Natural Dyeing & Education
I move between two creative worlds: bold typography and botanical color.
As a graphic designer with over two decades of experience, I’ve built identities, publications, and event branding for clients ranging from national nonprofits to upscale restaurants and retail shops. My design work is rooted in clarity, craft, and a belief that good design communicates with elegance and purpose.
Through Tocco Studio, I explore the tactile side of visual storytelling. I work with natural dyes like indigo, cochineal, and foraged plants to create textiles, fiber-based pieces, and handmade goods that bring the outside in. I also teach workshops in indigo dyeing, bundle dyeing, and visible mending — sharing what I’ve learned from studying with master dyers around the world.
My practice is grounded in material, process, and a deep appreciation for things made with care. I earned a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania and a BFA in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design. I am the immediate past Co-President of the Guilford ABC Board, continuing to serve on the board and chaired design events for Spark Design Professionals in NYC.
Whether I’m working with pixels or pigment, I’m always seeking beauty, connection, and lasting form.
